Tomahawk Film Music is the brain child and passion of Brian Matthews who was born in Essex, England in 1958.

He has worked as a writer, producer, broadcaster & military historian since entering the world of Film & Television in 1982.

Brian’s passion as a student and collector of German military memorabilia started early in life, and he opened up part of his parent’s house as a museum at the age of 13.

Tomahawk Film Music started life as a documentary production company in 1987 and grew into a professional archive specializing in Third Reich military and civilian music.

In 2016, Brian decided it was time to retire, but he wanted to ensure that the history and significance of his collection would carry forward. Sound Ideas and Westar Music are delighted to carry on the tradition and the name of Tomahawk Film Music.
